Introduction

Power distribution companies worldwide penalize consumers for maintaining a power factor below a defined threshold (generally below 0.90). In industries, reactive power drawn by inductive or capacitive loads causes the power factor to deviate, resulting in energy losses and increased demand charges.

Our LV APFC panels automatically regulate the system’s reactive power by dynamically switching capacitors or reactors, ensuring the power factor remains within permissible limits. These panels use thyristor or contactor-based switching devices, combined with inrush current limiting reactors or harmonic filter reactors, for safe and reliable operation.

For stable loads, fixed kVAR compensation is sufficient. However, for fluctuating loads, our automatic APFC panels provide real-time correction to maintain system efficiency.
